Large, half-glass head when poured from a can. A dome-like head forms toward the end of the tasting. Dirty copper color. Clear. Thick, nearly blanketing lace.
Semisweet caramel nose with toasted white bread. Similar to a British IPA. No notable hop. Attractive.
Smooth start with a rich body. The carbonation seems muted but it cuts the otherwise viscous mouthfeel. The almond malt base gives way quickly to strong bittering hop. There’s also a touch alcohol warmth to the swallow. The finish and long aftertaste is pretty much hop bitterness.
