Doppel, meaning double, is a stronger version of a German bock beer. It was first brewed by the Paulaner Monks 375 years ago to nurish them during fasting. They called thiers Salvator, meaning savior, and many imitaions carry the "-ator" in their names. With ours, you can expect a strong dark copper beer with the flavor of alcohol, raisin, chocolate, and dark toast.
