What a fantastic pub. Just across the road from the 'Netherton Flyer' a statue of the world famous canal jumper (from a standing start), sorry can't remember his name, but he is world famous around The Black Country!
The front room always seems to be full of local characters who are amazed anyone travels to their pub, but they cheerfully chat and swop banter with whoever comes in.
The middle room is hard to get into/find, quiet and like a reading room. The largest room is the dining lounge at the rear, good quality lagre platefuls of food at sensible prices.
Good beer, good food, good atmoshere, good service, what more do you want?

Known to all and sundry in the area has Ma Pardoes after the woman who ran the pub for many years, the pub went into decline in the 1980's but has enjoyed a remarkable recovery since reopening a few years ago. The pub is the Brewery Tap for the Olde Swan Brewery whose beers include Old Swan (3.5%), Entire (4.4%) and Bumblehole (named after a local landmark) (5.2%) as well as a Mild and seasonal beers.
The bar at the front of the premises is superb with a marvelous tiled ceiling, an old boiler and an ancient weighing machine amongst other artifacts. The door to the right of the bar leads to a small snug. The rear rooms of the pub have a different character and have been turned into a restaurant which seems highly popular at weekends! Beer prices are cheap (£1.40 for Old Swan). Excellent, full of atmosphere.
