Pours dark brown, almost black with minimal tan head. Also, there is a floating clump of what I assume (hope) is yeast?
Something is off on the aroma.
Debating if what I'm tasting is some poor quality vanilla, a lacto infection, or a bit of both. Either way, this is not quite right. It's okay, but not good.
Bitter on the finish.
A bit thin for an imperial stout.
Far from my favorite imperial stout. It has me puzzled.

16oz can purchased at the brewery on 7-9-20. Opened 7-23-20.
Vanilla beans added.
1/4" beige head, fades quickly down to a ring. Spotty lacing.
Black to dark brown edges.
Subdued roasted malt early. Opens up a little late into a more charred malt and espresso aroma. No vanilla detectable.
Roasted, charred sweet malt. Not much else.
Medium body (for an IS), low carbonation. Smooth, silky mouthfeel. Roasty but cloying finish.
Good.
