L-Pours a cloudy golden body with a thinly laced head. Subtle carbonation throughout the body of this beer.
S-A funky combination of strong candy like fruit aromas. To break it down further, I get a fresh and loud combination of colorful passion fruit, tangy pineapple, sweet peach and raspberry are immediately there, followed by vanilla, and sweet tarts. I also get some notes of berry punch. To add to that, I get a slight bit of funky brett is there as well. Very fresh and very inviting.
T-Following the aroma, the flavor is a crisp fresh combination of Granny Smith apple, and passion fruit. This is followed by a nondescript sugary candy flavor, and a sour wheat tang. On a lesser note, I do get some peach and towards the end some pineapple. There is also a slight bit of raspberry. I feel like those notes might be lost in the fold because there is so much going on. Nevertheless, the flavor is a wild, yet fun and refreshing ride.
F-A light and decently drying, refreshing mouthfeel.
O-What else can I say. This beer scratched an itch I didn't think I had. I'm typically not in the mood for fruited Berliner weisse, but this beer is an exceptional one at that. A candy-like thrill ride of a beer that is sweet, complex and lip puckering sour. The fruited notes are incredibly fresh, and the mouthfeel is lively and light. I will absolutely be seeking this beer out again, and will be sharing it with others. I'm surprised here, but this may be one of the better beers I've had in DFW.
