Pained Restraint is a 4.8% Helles. Brewing this was an exercise in restraint indeed. It was brewed with 100% Texas @texmalt Pilsner malt. It was lagered for eight weeks and is ultra dry, simple, and easy.

L-Pours a beautiful golden colored beer with a nice Lacey head. Fine carbonation.
S-Sweet Pilsner malt, some orange, apple and earthy herbal notes. Slight funky barnyard at the end. Mead-like fermented honey at the end.
T-Sweet maltiness, apple, and spicy grain. Some honey. The flavor is followed by a sweeter maltiness and a slight bitter bite at the end.
F- crisp, and well carbonated. Family light bodied.
O- Restraint is right. For a brewery that is known for brewing colorful beers, this one takes a step back and pays homage to a classic style. It is barebones and well crafted.

Had Pained Restraint at the Celestial Beerworks taproom, Dallas, Tex., on draft into Willi Becher.

Pours straw gold with 1-finger near-white head, with decent retention, leaving sketchy lace etched down the glass. Aromas of mild, sweet pilsner malt and mild herbals off pour, with mild hop spice and floral aromas as warms. On tasting, begins all sweet and creamy pilsner malt, with a little immediate hop bite, then a hint of sweet stone fruit, before a crisp, herbally-bitter finish.

As a Helles, Pained Restraint was a good choice for my first beer from Celestial, and it delivered a straight-up, malty, clean, Noble-hopped homage to the style.
