30cl bottle. Dark ruby pour with a short-lasting tan head. Metallic smell, with notes of caramel, dried fruit, spices, red wine. Tastes like dried fruit, caramel, coriander. Nice

Tap at cafe heffer in Amsterdam
Nice thick creamy head fades at a med pace with tons of lacing, crystal clear cranberry maroon red color.
Nose sweet caramel reddish malts, almost candy like, a quite fruity ester aroma and faint sour fruit aroma.
Taste starts with sweet malts, plenty of candy like reddish caramel malts and a little toasty, then Belgian yeast esters and light phenols. Light grassy bitterness in there too. Finish brings more earthy hop bitterness with lingering caramel and toasty malts, little candy syrup and light Belgian yeast esters.
Mouth is med bodied, decent carb.

Nice ruby colour but the head dissappeared almost immediatly (dishwasher).
Sweetish malt smell, dark fruits, less intense than, say, a Belgian dubbel. Slight alcohol prehaps. I have to agree on dates and pineapple (some tartness).
Interesting taste, the lack of head bothers me though. Sweet, fruity, not too heavy on the malt. No intense 'breadcrust' in here.
Tea? Well, it certainly has a bit of tea-like dryness to it.
Very carbonated. Could do with a little less in my opinion.
Easy to drink and not too strong. Overal a nice brew.

When I was walking through the east of Limburg I saw that the cafés advertized with Lindeboom. You don't see that label elsewhere in the Netherlands. So I tried it! I took the Gouverneur Brune, a nice ruby red beer from the tap.
Because of my hurry to catch the train I had to drink it quickly and couldn't note exactly all the aspects.
Looking at the review below: almost all is true and well described, except the grades given. The top doesn't stay long, but further: this is an excellent beer, a nice taste and a nice bitterness!

Coming in a short 300ml brown bottle, filtered. BB March 09, served chilled in Westmalle broad-rimmed goblet. The front label also reads "Limburgs Speciaal Bier" - some sort of local/regional brew?
A: clear, dark reddish brown (a bit like a Gammay-dominated Burgundy wine), coming with a fast disappearing beige head and abundant (but not crazy) fizziness.
S: very sweet in terms of the sugar content, plus random touches of caramelised nuts, sweetened red dates, and dark malts... an intriguing touch of pineapple-ish yeastiness also stays in the background.
T: the sweet black-tea-ish foretaste is closely followed by quite spicy bittersweet main entry that gradually fades out in terms of flavour and gives way to an expanding flow of chewy and herbal hop bitterness with a tinge of red-date infused water, dry-ish toasty malts, and a faint touch of pineapple-slice(!!) in the end. Not bad at all~~
M&D: interestingly, despite the super quiet flavour profile, the clean palate and the more spicy bitter theme make this ale increasingly drinkable sip by sip... The aroma remains perhaps the single biggest problem, though.
