16 oz can, no date
Pours black in color, thin cream colored head that fades to a just a collar around the glass. Very pleasant espresso aroma and flavor - roasty and a touch of dark fruit. Nice full bodied mouthfeel.

Poured into goblet: color is dark brown/near black, head is light tan and presents 1 finger thick, head dissipates to ring along the glass, minimal lacing.
Smell is coffee, medium to darker roast, light nuttiness, hint of roasted malt, maybe some light cocoa.
Taste is dominant coffee with a light malt sweetness but limited roast or chocolate character, a bit thin in flavor outside of the coffee, almost tastes like coffee with some brown sugar.
Mouthfeel is low carbonation, moderate sweetness, moderate coffee bitterness, no boozy burn but a sharp presence on tongue.
Overall an odd beer given the base style - seemingly no real malt/chocolate/roast flavor, like a sweetened, lightly carbonated coffee.

Kick-Back 2x Coffee Stout from Logyard. Purchased on 27/1/21 for $ 4.00 (Including tax) for 16 oz can ($ 0.250/oz) from Franklin Beer, Franklin, PA. In reefer at store and stored at home at 42 degrees. Reviewed 4/2/21.
Stamped on bottom “BRAD PITT 12/18/2020”. Served at 48.3 degrees in a hand washed and dried Jester King snifter. Final temperature 51.4 degrees.
Appearance – 4.25.
First pour – Amber Brown (SRM 18), clear.
Body – Ruby Brown (SRM 24), opaque. When rear-lite, ruby, and clear.
Head – Average (Maximum three cm, aggressive center pour), champagne, high density, average retention, leaving a four to eight mm undulating crown fed by rapid effervescence, and a thin complete cap with rocks. Second pour produces a 0.5 cm head.
Lacing – Good. Multiple narrow rows of near-microscopic bubbles, linked by short, skinny columns.
Aroma – 4 – Initially fairly strong coffee with a bit of underlying chocolate malt, no hops, no yeast.
Flavor – 3.75 – Begins with slightly bitter coffee. No hops, no yeast. No chocolate as the nose had led me to expect. No alcohol (8.9 % ABV, as marked on container) taste or aroma. Slight gastric warming from first swallow on. No dimethylsulfide or diacetyl.
Palate – 3 – Medium, watery, soft carbonation.
Final impression and summation: 3.75 Could pass as a slightly dense but weakly flavored coffee. Body is at the porter end of the spectrum. Looks good, smells OK, but doesn’t coffee always smell better than it tastes.

16oz can into a pint glass. Canned date of 12/11/20, so 3 weeks old.
Looks very nice in the glass. Black/brown body shows deep ruby red when held up to the light. Small tan head shrinks to a thick ring and covering, leaving attractive lacing early on.
Nose is all about black coffee, and it's a pleasing aroma.
On tasting, the coffee is front and center. There is a significant roast. A light sweet touch at times, though I'm not actually tasting any chocolate. Warmth from the abv.
Mouth right around medium, would prefer a fuller feel. Finish roast coffee.
Overall, pretty decent coffee stout. A more chocolate presence would have been nice, perhaps it needs a few more weeks in the can.
