Poured into grip shaped goblet: color is near black, head is tan and presents 1+ fingers thick, then dissipates quickly with no lacing and no remaining head.
Smell is blend of roasted and chocolate malts, light toasted malt, moderate hop earthiness.
Taste is similar with pleasant roast and chocolate malts, maybe some light dark fruit and coffee undertones, hop is notable as an earthy character to balance malt.
Mouthfeel is moderate carbonation, moderate sweetness, low bitterness, with lingering roasted/chocolate malt sweetness.
Overall - great to have a new porter to taste and a well constructed one at that - notable chocolate, roast, malt character with a subtle hop note, very well done.

1 pint can (PD010621) poured into a pint glass with a dark brown/almost black color, large but quickly receding head and minimal lacing. Smells of roasted malt, toffee, mild notes of hops. Taste follows aroma with notes of dark fruit, toffee, roasted coffee, and some bitter malts. Medium body with good carbonation and relatively dry finish. Overall, though this is 6 months old, its a pretty decent American porter.
