ANF'ing Perfect is a New England Style Double IPA with a large portion of the grist consisting of malted oats and wheat that lend a full-bodied, smooth mouthfeel. We cool the whirlpool down before adding Simcoe and Chinook hops which contribute to a piney and citrusy note without the bitterness. Dry hopped at two different points during fermentation with Citra, Mosaic, and Simcoe provides big aromas of berries, candied fruit and citrus.

Pretty sure this will come up short of perfect. Now that the fluid pint has left its can to temporarily reside in a clear glass liter mug, there's quite a bit of starchy stark white foam produced by a gentle pour. That almost never ends well. The color of the beer isn't bad. It's sort of a light brown with reddish tints. It's opaque, but not murky, as has a brightness to it. The hop/starch combination has some grainy sweetness and earthy bitterness. First, it drinks much smoother and richer than most stark white foam producing brews. The sweetness in the taste is more like a whole grain biscuit than anything fruity. This is not too sweet. The hops bring a bitterness closest to unsweetened tea, in other words, it's not too bitter. But, it brings more than enough of both flavors to satisfy an reasonable NEIPA drinker. There's not much dryness to the finish, but this isn't a West Coast IPA. There's virtually no glass lacing and this isn't a West Coast IPA. Earlier words were "almost never", but this will remain a noteworthy exception. Solid complimentary tastes in good balance, delivered smoothly with a good body and a tasteful use of an ABV over 8%. Darn near perfect.
