Poured into clear plastic cup: color is darker amber, head is light tan with fine to small bubbles and presents one finger thick, head dissipates to thin top with a good amount of lacing on the glass sides.
Smell is mostly spiced with clove, ginger, light cinnamon, then some light caramel malt, but not much sweetness.
Taste is more spiced forward - clove/ginger/cinnamon, some malt with toast and caramel, more sweetness than aroma, better flavor with warmth.
Mouthfeel is low/moderate carbonation, moderate sweetness, low/moderate bitterness but some spicy dryness, softening some with warmth but still a spicy finish.
Overall a slightly thin winter warmer from a malt perspective but a prominent spice profile.

Shiver Me Timbers from Logyard Brewing. 16 oz can. Purchased from Franklin Beer, Franklin, PA on 09/02/23 for $3.50 (Including tax) - $ 0.219/oz. In reefer at store, stored at 34 degrees at home. Reviewed 17/02/23 (Review 3043). Note that I use DD/MM/YY protocol.
Printed on bottom of can “GOOD JUJU 10/27/2022”. Served at 62.2 degrees in a hand washed and dried Jester King snifter. The final temperature was 63.5 degrees. Can says “Keep cold” but I served it at temperatures better suited for a winter warmer.
Appearance – 4.
First pour – Pale Amber (SRM 9), clear.
Body – Ruby Brown (SRM 24), opaque. Under direct light, same. When rear lite, translucent and ruby.
Head – Large (Maximum 5.2 cm, aggressive center pour), wheat, medium density, rapidly collapsing to a 0.2 - 0.3 cm bubble ring, and a thin partial cap.
Lacing – Poor. Just a few tiny foam islands.
Aroma – 3.25 – Weak mulled spices – none either strong or separate enough to identify. No malt, no hops, no yeast.
Flavor – 3.25 – Begins with mildly bitter ghostly coffee. No malt, no hops, no yeast. No ethanol (6.5 % ABV as marked on label) aroma or taste. Mostly allspice and ginger on the back end – didn’t find the cinnamon (my favorite spice) or the alleged chocolate. No gastric warming occurs. No dimethylsulfide or diacetyl.
Palate – 3.5 – Medium, weakly syrupy, soft carbonation.
Final impression and summation: 3.5 Certainly not as malty as expected from a winter warmer. The mouthfeel felt like a little maple syrup was used, but the QR code says not. Generally a weakly spiced coffee drink – five months old and essentially a weakly spiced coffee drink. Still, it’s not as obnoxious as most winter warmers.
