Picked up in Paris
Pours a light small fizzy bubbly dark head that fades quickly, a touch of lacing but long legs, pitch black beer
Nose brings a little roasted malts, dark chocolate, cocoa, a little caramel and some coffee notes, some baking spices from the roast and barrel notes, hint of dark fruits, interesting earthy wood notes
Taste brings some roasted malts, a little char and mild acidic burnt roast almost acrid like, super dark chocolate and a little burnt fudge, mild caramel again and into baking spices, again spices from the roasted malts and barrel notes, a little burnt coffee, bitter spicy hops and bitter roast, a touch of dark fruits in there too, and a slight barrel notes
Mouth is fuller bod, rich a bit creamy, decent carb and no real alcohol
Overall a pretty nice RIS, a bit too much on the roasted bitterness, but nice beer otherwise, even had touch of dark fruits for RIS, not much barrel though either
