On tap at the brewpub.
The appearance was a fair looking copper to amber color with a slight transparency about it. Carbonation could be seen rising to fill a small white head quickly dieing off.
The aroma had some earthy to grassy to floral and herbal qualities meshing together. Some caramel and biscuity malts slide in underneath.
The flavor leaned into the malts initially then developed into more of a blend with the floral and grassy hops as it warmed. Slight aftertaste of biscuits, caramel and floral hop bitterness.
The mouthfeel was about medium bodied, perhaps just a touch under. Fine sessionability and a decent carbonation. ABV felt appropriate. Good finish of malts and hops seemed proportionate.
Overall, I'd say this was a decent take on an Irish red ale by an American brewer. I'd give this another go.
