Had on tap at the brewpub.
The appearance was a nice looking dark brown close to black color topped by a small off white/semi-eggshell white slim foamy head. This quickly dissolved and barely left any lace.
The aroma had some sweet ash, roasty coffee beans, mellow dark chocolate, cocoa powder and a touch of dark fruits.
The flavor leaned into the sweet ash and toasty coffee beans. Mild bitterness level coming from the coffee beans, no acidity. Moderate aftertaste of dark chocolate and roasty coffee beans, slight dark toast.
The mouthfeel was about medium bodied with a fair sipping quality about it. Carbonation was good. ABV felt appropriate. Smooth finish of dark toast and dark chocolate with some mellow roastiness.
Overall, pretty nice American stout packing a ton of flavor in this little stout.
