Very good head production and retention. On the darker end of the spectrum for a brown ale, but still in bounds - it doesn't look like a porter/stout.
Rich and smooth nose, with notes of cinnamon (but not overpowering), vanilla, cream, prune, brown sugar, toffee, and caramel. Smells sweet, but also bright and fresh and balanced.
Similar on the palate: while it's a sweet beer honoring the namesake, it's crisp and lively at the same time. Cinnamon adds a wonderful accent and a dry spicy kiss on the back third, but doesn't overpower. Other notes include caramel, prune, cream, vanilla, brown sugar, cola, and crisp, slightly piney and grassy hops. Flavor basically matches the nose.
For what should be a dessert beer, this is absolutely crushable. I love the lively mouthfeel, instead of going with a thick pastry-like body.
