Spec's Liquor #100

Spec’s #100, 5219 De Zavala Road, San Antonio, TX. Most recent visit 11/10/18. Plenty of parking. The beer is located on the left side of the store, between the front and the rest rooms in the rear, in both coolers and shelves. There are also end caps with single cans and bottles. Prices are average – a 750 mL bottle of CBS was $24.99. Beer is only a small part of the inventory – the bulk is wine and liquor. A year or so ago they added a selection of food items as well. The staff is knowledgeable and willing to help – just ask or look confused. Spec’s has a card which will get you additional discounts on various marked items, but I’ve never seen any beer with this discount. The card can also be used to track your purchase history – I used it to find a brand of tequila I’d tried once and really liked but couldn’t remember the brand name. AND there is a 5% discount for using cash or debit rather than credit. I’ve been in a number of Spec’s and, in general, the inventory seems to vary with the affluence of the location – the smaller stores are in the poorer areas and have less varied inventory – or so it seems to me.
