I was looking forward to tasting this beer.
I tasted Onward and really enjoyed it.
Golden color with a 4F head.
I’m not sure if there is stone fruit in the taste and aroma.
A toffee like fruit taste/aroma.
Silky MF.
Moderately hoppy finish.
Looking forward to more of their beers.

A- Pours from the tallboy into a tulip glass with a clear deep golden to light amber body and a massive cap. The head almost shoots out of the glass rising to three fingers off of a steady but not aggressive pour. Great head retention and

S- The aroma of this brew is all about the hops and the balance of the hop profile brings me back sometime. Clean hops bringing citrus and pine first and foremost with orange, grapefruit, resin, tangerine and zesty notes leading into slight stone fruit, floral and herbal hints.

T- Again with that citrus, floral and pine reminding me of the first time I had beers like Hercules, Green Flash IPA (RIP) and many of the classic Port IPAs. The beer opens up with oranges and grapefruit along with a just a bit of their bitter oily zest right up front with pine resin and heavily floral hops. On the palate a bit more of the stone fruit and tropical fruit feel comes out but honestly it is very much secondary to the aforementioned hops. Light bit of sweetness, a touch of cracker and bread but hops are once again clean.

MF- Medium bodied and crisp on the whole. The texture is just a bit lacking but it has some fluffy and frothy heft on the taste buds. Ends with a clean, moderate level of bitterness in the finish.

Read the description of the beer after taking notes and they call it a take on West Coast IPAs and it sure is. Pine and citrus hops are strong and fresh with backing from floral and slightly fruity hops as well.
