pours out a hazy straw color, bright white head is fluffy and hangs around for a while, leaves big patches of lacing as the foam recedes.
aromas are sharp and pungent, noticable from feet away after pouring this out. there is a sharp citric character, orange peel, lemon, very floral and fresh smelling.
to describe the taste of this beer in one word - soft. there is a creamyness to it and this fluffy bready character throughout, fairly sweet but not overly so... must have some oats or wheat in there. as on the nose there is plenty of citric character, grapefruit and some hints of creamy peaches complimenting a nice tangerine orange and citrus peel flavor. very minimal bitterness, almost nonexistent, some flowery and slightly herbal notes in there. mouthfeel is fairly light but maintains that slightly creamy texture, nice!

DATE: September 22, 2019... OCCASION: a rarity--Browns on Sunday night--is paired with another, little known but uncovered by Jeff--thanks for the gift!... GLASSWARE: Victory Hop Devil nonick... an opaque, sallow golden yellow body, impossible to ascertain its life, though its mountainous white head crags imposingly before rimming thick blankets of lace... as its name announces, grapefruit and lime front and center.... secondary wafts of resin and tea, with oats and bread malts providing a bit of mellow to the otherwise proud hop hit... this sits nicely, a buzzing at the teeth, a thin yet appreciable body in the mouth, and a patient lingering thickness late... this makes a typical citra impression, with grapefruit, mango, lime and lemon refreshing the taste buds... not particularly balanced, but a hint of toasted oat... the IBUs must be guessed at, but probably are in the 50-60 range... this is a fun, straight-up IPA that refreshes with a quality flavor profile--not too complex, but effective, smooth, and worth seeking out if you are in Vermont...
