Tarfur from Beljandi Brugghus. On tap at brewery. Served at whatever temp the reefer is in a brewery snifter. Reviewed 23/7/21. Note that I use DD/MM/YY protocol.
Appearance – 4.
Body – Brown (SRM 20), opaque. When rear-lite, same.
Head – Small (Maximum one cm), wheat, medium density, short retention, diminishing to a 0.2 cm crown of tiny bubbles and a thin complete cap.
Lacing – Good.
Aroma – 4 – Begins with roasted malt, no hops, no yeast.
Flavor – 4 – Begins slightly sweet and a touch malty but the sweetness quickly fades leaving a slight roasted malt bitterness. No hops, no yeast. No ethanol (7.2% ABV, as marked on container) taste or aroma. No gastric warming. No dimethylsulfide or diacetyl.
Palate – 3.5 – Medium, more watery than creamy, soft carbonation.
Final impression and summation: 3.75 Decent stout although to my taste it’s closer to a porter.
