Our version of a “May” bock is lighter in color than a traditional bock and also bolder in hop flavor and bitterness, which we believe gives this strong lager better balance. With a grain bill that includes Colorado pilsner malt and German Vienna and Munich malts, our Maibock has flavors of toasted bread with honey. And with a liberal dose of German hops, magnum for bittering and Tettnang Tettnanger for flavor and aroma, it has a balanced bittersweet flavor with spicy hop flavors blending with those of the malt. Best consumed after burning serious calories, say after a day of spring skiing, biking the Santa Fe Century, or even a session of vigorous bill paying. You work hard and you have earned this beer.
