My completely pedestrian review of Oro's Royal Windsor:
Dark
Thick
I would say more smooth and silky than creamy.
Flavorful but not sweet.
Hops and bitterness are perfectly balanced.
Super easy to drink (dangerous at 10%)
This beer started it all for me. I'm my late forties my wife and I walked into Oro for a beer. I tried the Royal Windsor and was blown away. It's the first time I actually LIKED the beer and not just tolerated it. I was disappointed to find that it is a seasonal brew and I couldn't get it year round. I did the only logical thing... I learned how to brew at home so I could make it myself. Any time I wanted. Now after more than 300 gallons of trial and error (quite the learning curve) brewing, I finally have a passable clone.

On-tap at brewery - Served in a snifter:
Pours brown with a thin lasting head. Lacing sticks.
The smell is of a brown ale - caramel, brown sugar, slight roast - with winter spicing - cinnamon and nutmeg.
The taste is of a rich brown ale. The winter spicing is just enough to enhance it and give it a "winter" touch. Alcohol is dangerously well-covered.
Velvety smooth with a rich full-body, this is excellent and very easy to drink. I like how the spicing is present but not overwhelming and it has a great base beer!
