Poured into a Seattle Beer Week pint glass. Pours a hazy, medium golden orange with a three finger off-white head with great retention and nice lacing. Aroma of passion fruit, citrus rind and faint malt. Flavor is pale malt, passion fruit (mostly kiwi and grapefruit character) and citrus rind. Lingering grapefruit tartness. Medium bodied with light to moderate creaminess. This is a fruit adjunct I'm not sure I've had in a beer although some hop bills have a passion fruit profile. The flavor is dominated by the fruit which tastes authentic, although interestingly the aftertaste has some of the most realistic fresh grapefruit character I can remember. The malt is a mild, typical blonde ale but the usually sweet and soft character of malt in this style is muted by the fruit tartness and citrus notes. Refreshing and flavorful. I liked this. This was a passion fruit blonde ale and was one of the better beers we sampled. Hazy yellow color, lots of fruit in the nose and light passion fruit in the taste. Easy to drink.
