Really interesting black ale. They have lavender and some other herbs from their garden brewed into it. So it has the toasty dryness from the black ale but also this strange herbaceous almost floral but not overpowering hint to it. Yum.

12oz bottle.
Pours almost opaque black with minimal head or retention. Black licorice, burned coffee beans, and char in the nose. Medium bodied with a crisp mouthfeel. Extremely roasty on the palate with bakers chocolate and hints of star anise. Finishes dry and roasty with lingering spice.
Interesting beer, kind of a spiced Belgian stout-light.
