L:. Pours a bright pink red with a small white head and thick lacing around the glass.
S:. Strong note of ruby red grapefruit, with notes of blood orange, lots of grapefruit and a bit of floral hops.
T:. Very strong ruby red grapefruit, a touch of citrus and blood orange, and a medium floral hop.
F:. Prickly carbonation, medium body.
O:. This should be called a grapefruit IPA.

My bestie from Charlotte, NC gave me a can of this beer. It poured a slightly hazy orangish with very thin white head that is leaving some lace. The scent had ruby grapefruit flare. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with bold blood orange/ruby grapefruit presence....but I am also getting a hint of chocolate undertone.....interesting. The mouthfeel was medium in body and had good carbonation. Overall it is a good beer.

A: The beer is slightly hazy orange in color. It poured with a short off white head.
S: Moderate aromas of blood orange are present in the nose.
T: The taste follows the smell and has lots of flavors of blood orange and a moderate amount of bitterness.
M: It feels light- to medium-bodied and very crisp on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This Imperial IPA seems a little lighter in body compared to other beers in the style. It was all about the blood oranges.

i actually really liked all of the beer i had in here. i have been hearing great things about these guys for awhile now, and finally was able to check them out. this seems to be their flagship, or at least one of their most popular brews, a sturdy and juicy ipa that contains blood orange and i believe some grapefruit as well. a lightly hazy pink hue from the tap and a wonderful aroma of fresh sliced citrus and hops. the fruit to me is both a little bit sweet and a little bit acidic, and its very natural for how robust it is, both in aroma and in flavor. the hops are new school, amarillo or mosaic or something, so cohesive with the fruit thats it hard to pick out exactly, but it works perfectly, subtle pineapple and even mango notes from the hops working right into the summery citrus profile, really bold but not too much, they were smart i think to make this a little stronger and more substantial to support all of the flavor happening. the grapefruit is really bright, the orange has some sweetness, and the hops bridge the gap perfectly, not one thing then the next in a linear progression, but all of it all the way through. really surprisingly good, usually i dont care a whole lot for fruited ipa, but this is excellent. they do a blend of this with their session ipa too which was nice, takes the intensity down a little bit. overall a really nice recipe thats professionally executed.
