Had on tap at the brewery.
Finally a brewery calling it what it is, this isn't a Mexican style lager, it's a light lager. The only difference between the two is one is brewed in Mexico.
On arrival again a fine but slightly fizzy one finger head was present that eventually diminished to a light ring around the glass. Color is a light straw with quite active carbonation.
Aroma is very sweet and malty with a very light hit of American hops. Some slight sulfur is on the very back but it is quite vague. Other than the yeast off note it is a very good lager but it is slightly off.
Taste brings a lot of redemption with the yeast making a nice bubblegum like euro Ester despite the odd smell. It honestly tastes like a lot of helles beers I have had.
Feel is light drinkable crisp and medium in almost every aspect. Definitely designed to be a crowd easer but I'd say they've done it. The head makes this beer quite soft with just the right amount of carbonation bite.medium finish, and not dry nor mouthcoating but very very drinkable.
Overall for the style this is insanely good, but if we treat it like a traditional craft brewery "mexican style lager" it's pretty normal. It's mostly clean and the only off note is on the aroma, but the aroma has a bit of sulfur in it. Taste has some slight euro lager notes but stays nice and light again as promised.
