I have been to several private events at this new location. Their owners have connections to the local Air Force Base and they host many military-related functions. It is much larger and more open than the "Launchpad" is. There is a long bar, lots of tables in the main room, an outdoor patio and beer garden, and a small side room. There always seems to be a good crowd, but the atmosphere is quiet and relaxed, not raucous.
3rd Planet does not serve food, but every time I've been there, there was a food truck outside; however, I do not know the actual schedule or availability of them. There are typically enough bartenders to keep up with demand, and I have found them to be friendly, approachable, and good ambassadors for craft beer. Usually there is an owner or spouse of an owner helping out, which is great to see.
There are typically 20-ish beers on tap, including several guest beers from as far away as Belgium. The 3rd Planet beers have disappointed me a few times, but I feel their quality and selection are steadily improving and are always at least competent. Over all, this is a relaxed, friendly spot to enjoy locally-made beers.
