Dark brown appearance with decent head. Has a sweet, caramel, malty smell.

Taste is malty with a strong hint of caramel. Definitely sweet and contains a hint of roasted nuts. Surprisingly a has a medium body and the aftertaste is a bit light and dry.

Overall a decent brown ale. Kind of thick and favorable to begin with but finishes lightly making it very drinkable.

Poured this one right into the Kootenay glass that came with the 6 pk.Pours a nice amber, brownish coppery color with good size tan head and little lacing.
Aroma is of roasted malts with some caramel and a tinge of pine.
Taste's a little sweet in the beginning and kinda tangy with a hint of licorice towards the end,of course the roasty malts and faint pine.
Medium light mouth to it and it goes down quite thin.
Not a bad beer at all, definately worth trying and i will have again..quite enjoyable..and it's made by the Kokanee people.

So this beer is from the makers of Kokanee, OK then,

A very clear, brown ale with a bit of a copper hue. Disappointed with the tan head in terms of size, but the was evidence of it throughout the sample. Ok lacing. Sweet and floral with some faint pine undertones. A subtle hint of the kilned and roasted malts was alos evident. Qhite sweet initally before the hop(see Pootz's review) take over. Could have a bit more robust malt profile. A bit on the watery and thin side in terms of mouthfeel is all that keeps this from being a really decent brown ale.

Average offering from the maker of Kokanee. They certainly go to some length to distance themselves from Kokanee.

Fairly light in colour for a "brown" ale; although I have seen some great brown ales that are not much darker than this. Still, not what usually comes to mind when I think of this style.

Somewhat bland metallic malt-hop blend in the nose. Seems a bit tangy, maybe hop-heavy. Doesn't seem malty enough for a brown ale.

Taste is medicore at worst, average at best. Rusty nails, malt, bitter hops and bread. Not an award winning combination by any stretch, but I've had far, far worse. Light malt, not enough to make this a true brown ale.

This beer is not bad, and considering who makes it, could have been far worse. Agreeable, but not outstanding.

Deep copper in color, clear and has a decent 2 finger off-white cap with moderate retention....good lacing on the glass..medium-high carbonation.

Aroma gives off light berry tones over mild caramel malt and some cedar chip hops.

Medium to light body, slick mouth feel. Caramel malts up front with the unmistakable piney tang of Pacific NW Willamette and Nugget hops. Finish is wet where you can taste the licorice and toffee tastes which prevail over the metallic twang of the Yakima valley hops.

Not really a traditional brown ale but a NW variation. A very decent ale from a brewer most people write off as a Labatt maco brewer.

Impressive ale from the Columbia Brewing Co., the box claims "a rich, full bodied ale crafted from kilned and roasted malts". Something Canada should be proud of. Since I can't think of anything else original, I'll just say I pretty much agree with beerguy101's review...

Red amber color, large head. Matly and mildly hoppy. A medium bodied brown ale. Some nut-brown flavor. Milder tasting. Mouthfeel is a little thin and round. Finish is smooth and clean. Aftertaste is slightly malty. Somewhat reminiscent of a mild English ale. Nice taste.

Considering this is put out by the same company that makes Kokanee (yet in a microbrewed guise), it's not that bad at all. It's a decent looking ale, a rich coppery tone more suited to an amber than brown ale, but appealing nonetheless. The head doesn't last long, but leaves a ring. Nose is quite hoppy with slight roasted malt. The flavour isn't as impressive as the appearance, contains sweetish malt balanced by the hops on the finish. Quite average in fact, but I wouldn't say no to another one.
