Reddish brown pour with a tan ring. Smell is incredible: whiskey mash, brown sugar, molasses, wood, toffee, caramel, toasty vanilla, prune and date, with the whiskey booze backing. Taste is not as complex partially due to the whiskey heat, much warmer than the nose, but still get wood, molasses, caramel and date, wood in particular seems to have benefitted. Feel is warm verging on hot with the booziness, good oak tannins, and crisp barley with the gooey malts, finishes properly thinner, but again with high booze heat that is just still palatable. The wife loved it. Thanks for the BA barleywine thread to get this one into the fridge
