Oddly, while this Stout was added to the BA database in 2020, this is the first review. Pint pour served in a shaker glass. The appearance is unusual. Rather than dark walnut, the color is a muddy brown - like a dark chocolate malted. It sports a full finger of fluffy, light mocha-colored head and lacing. I was disappointed by the lack of smell; it's malty with just a whiff of toffee. The taste is mellow with roasted malt and notes of caramel/toffee, and subdued nutty char. There is just a hint of bitterness at the finish. It's medium-bodied and creamy with low/moderate carbonation, and I barely noticed the 6.5% ABV. Overall, Short Fat Fanny is a solid, enjoyable American Stout. I wouldn't hesitate to drink it again.
