served on nitro at their taproom, pretty clever beer for this format, something we rarely see but makes perfect sense. i dont really need or want lactose and stuff to make a milkshake sour, but the nitro does that in texture here, its sexy and new school and good, a kettle sour type with lemon, but with excellent proportions in that it remains beery, like i can taste grain in this, and that seems rare these days in a beer like this, and i think thats part of what is setting rockwell apart, their beer is thoughtful and modern and even challenging at times, but it always tastes like beer. this is neat because its dry, its also rad because the lemon is natural and in the right spots in here, and its mellow to me, lightly hoppy, herbal, summery, delicate, and acidic in an approachable way. i think the nitro relaxes it some, and thats needed, but its not all that acidic anyway, even with the lemon, and it works as a drinker. almost anyone would like this, a sour drinker, a citrus pale guy, someone who wants weird beer, a creamy nitro fiend, even a dude who wants to hammer ten beers and not think about it. this works on so many levels. i liked the original a little better than the strawberry version, but both are fun.

From an aluminum can with some funky modern art, this beer is a clear yellow with just a hint of haze. The flavor has a bit of twang and a little sourness. There is some fruit...citrus...and a little peppery spice. Nice.
