a neat collaboration with, or tribute to (or both), the hop shop, which is such a rad place if you havent been. the dudes that own the place are even drawn on the can, pretty neat! the beer is another hazy ipa, this one more of an unfiltered than an intentionally cloudy starchy look to it, with an airy white head slowly fading. the aroma is a little more bitter than their midwest swing ipa, but pungent with citrus and pine, i get fresh orange and newly felled christmas tree, high alpha too, and some marijuana character as well. sweet lemon from the hops, wheat in the malt bill i reckon, and a clean fermentation profile without any detectable yeast character in this. slightly oily in feel and with a fuller medium body, good weight to it, makes me slow down and savor each sip. some serious pine on the back end, more and more as it warms, suggesting maybe simcoe or something. i like this being as aromatic as it is, as dry hoppy, but then having the bitterness on the swallow, kind of the best of both worlds in the same can of ipa. i think its rad they did a beer with the hop shop, i love that place and respect those dudes like crazy, so neat to see them immortalized in this way. i have liked every single beer ive had from rockwell so far!
