I am trying an 8oz glass of this beer off the tapper at the brewery. It poured an opaque dark with ecru ring head that is leaving a spotty lace. The scent had subtle sweet malt and chocolate notes. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with semi sweet dark chocolate malt base with caramel and very subtle touch of roast. The mouthfeel was medium in body and had good carbonation. Overall it is a great beer.

 

Dark black in color with no penetration to light. There's a fingernail of beige on top. The aroma is of oak and dark malt. I'm tasting oak, raisins, and dark malt. The mouth is boozy and chewy.

 

16oz can. Poured out an opaque, jet-black color with a small, light brown head of foam. It left sticky rings of lace on the glass. It smelled of some smoke, roasted malt, pine and toffee. Great roasted malt taste with coffee, dark chocolate, toffee and a piney, bitter finish.
