Whiskey is overpowering and fairly sour. It easily overwhelms the mild malt base, which barely makes itself known beyond some very light toasty notes.
This is a beer that has some potential, and would probably hold up much better at imperial strength. It’s not bad, but it’s not particularly good, either.
