Classic West Coast style India Pale Ale. Generously hopped for a mild bitterness and grapefruit aroma. Malty body and crisp finish.

Wonderful dark amber color.
Aroma is muted and barely noticeable.
Flavor is a throwback to the readily accessible WC-style IPAs of the early and mid 2000s. It’s not over the top bitter, and there’s a toasty, almost amber ale-like profile from the caramel malt. Hops are primarily citrus and pine up front, with citrus peel on the finish.
All of that said, it’s also moderately musty, and the hops lack much impact. If there were no other IPAs available, this would be a welcome diversion from the Sam Seasonals and macro beers on tap everywhere … but in today’s beer climate, it’s not one of the better IPAs you can find on tap. I’d like to see this in the 6.5-7% ABV range and see if it’s got some more oomph.
