This Old World-style Wheat Beer is crafted in authentic German tradition with ingredients that highlight the malt influences of Southern Bavaria. This refreshing ale is pale in color, with a pillowy mouthfeel that finishes bright and dry. This Hefeweizen is distinctively German with prominent banana and clove flavors.

Having it on tap today. Pours up with little head, no lacing, a nice golden color though. The aroma is pleasant, not as dominant as the flavor though. Decent banana and clove flavors, nice mouthfeel.
This is a good batch, no off flavors. Occasionally I’ve had it where I wondered what went wrong. It would be nice if they were more consistent.

12oz can from Total Wine. Golden pour, light haze, fizzy head disappears. Aroma grabs all the right notes, yeasty, banana, clove. Taste is the same, with the addition of a tangy back end, which I believes comes from an old out past due can.

The first canned hefeweizen I've had that poured like it's supposed to. Hazy yellow with a hint of orange, huge white head, excellent retention and beautiful lacing.
Underripe banana, baking bread, and clove aroma
Slightly tart, green banana and clove, wife says it reminds her of an Alsatian Reisling
Light bodied, fluffy, great carbonation
Not really my style, but an excellent representation

5 oz pour at the 1623 Brewing taproom. Aroma and flavor feature bubblegum, clove, wheat, and a little bit of banana. More bubblegum-forward than most hefeweizens I've had. Mouthfeel is well-carbonated and somewhat thin. Overall it is tasty and would be better in summer than on a sub-30 degree January day.

Poured from a 12 oz. can. Has a bright golden color with a 1 inch head. Smell is of bananas, wheat. Taste is of banana, lemons, a strong wheat backbone. Feels medium bodied in the mouth and overall is a refreshing and decent beer.

Please pardon that I am going by memory here, as this is not a beer one can always find. First, I love a real Hefeweizen. Also, I am quite the "European beer-snob" in some ways. That said, this beer was downright IMPRESSIVE. The brewer knows and loves the style, and it shows! If you want to drink a very solid and on-point Hefeweizen made in the USA, this is a go-to! I only wish this beer were a bit easier to come by in stores.

Haven't really sought out a hefeweizen in quite a while. Read the brewer's quotes about how this was his favorite style, so figured I wanted to know how someone who really likes hefeweizen would make it for himself. I was pleasantly surprised. This is really good! Poured from a can into a 16 oz glass. Beautiful pale, hazy yellow in the glass with a soft foamy head. Initially, you sense the telltale banana/clove hint of spicy hops in the nose, but it really comes alive with the first sip. The flavor is well balanced with a light, biscuity malt and a bubbly mouthfeel that ends with a lovely hint of bitterness, leaving a dryness on the tongue that makes you want more. Perfect rendition of the style, IMHO. Very enjoyable. Glad I bought a whole 6 pack.
