This imperial red rye IPA delivers a trident of flavors and bitterness. It is brewing efficiency at its finest, using extracts to deliver the 99 IBUs while packing tropical fruit profiles through an Ekuanot Incognito extract in whirlpool and a steam distilled Trident Hop Blend extract post-fermentation.

5 oz pour at the 1623 Brewing taproom. There is an odd sweet fruity flavor that I can't quite figure out, and which doesn't fit well with the imperial red IPA blueprint. Other than that it would be great - I'm reminded how imperials reds generally exceed my expectations, but unfortunately this beer is not in that category.

Clear coper appearance with a large off white head and light lacing. Working my way through varying layers in the aroma. Spices, including cinnamon, popped up first. Then fruit, mostly tropical, and citrus to a lesser degree. And, finally, a healthy dose of earthy malts. Taste was not as tricky. Grainy, rye-like malts laid the foundation while the hop profile built up the bitterness without any cloying sweetness. Some power behind that 9.9 abv. Full bodied, well carbonated mouthfeel. Canned on 09/27/21. Had this locally on tap at Oscars Alehouse and was impressed enough that I picked up a 4 pack when I saw it at a nearby bottle shop,
