At the brewery, on draft in a stemless snifter.
Pours a clear golden color, with a decent head that disappears after a sip or two. Lacing is nearly nonexistent.
The flavor is of Caramelized toasted malt, with a little enjoyable tartness and bitterness.
Subtle vanilla flavors accent the taste experience as well. It is pretty boozy tasting for a 8.5% ABV, and with a slight tinge when it lays on the tongue, partially from the alcohol, and partially from some residual carbonation. A underlying flavor reminiscent of cheap cologne. There is also a faint smokiness that lurks on the palate, perhaps the addition of some darker roasted grain for flavor.
Updated, having this a second time 5 months later, not as good as anticipated and it hasn’t aged well. Probably won’t get it again .
