L- Deep gold, almost an orange hue to it. Pours with 10mm undulating white head.
S- I forget the correct word.... damn.... er... very Belgium, very 'monastic', wheat/weiss/wit + spices.
T- Ooh, intricate, bright and vibrant. Spices, and yet a distinct liquor note here too. [I intentionally have not over-chilled it, I took it out of the fridge 10mins pre-open, and am glad as the taste is really popping!].
F- Lovely balance. The hops + dry side balances well vs a subtley meatier side.
O- What a surprise, this is an absolutely delicious and delightful brew. The can is so under-stated (for these times) - what no martians, UFOs and other bonkers imagery or additives to the beer?
This beer has absolutely got the Belgian monastic/Dubbel style completely nailed, AND made a magnificant job of it. It wasn't cheap but for it's price I still think it's a stand-out beer. Put it like this, about 1 in 100 beers, invariably completely out of the blue, turn out to be 'Just wow!' and this is an example of that.
440ml can. Bought from TremblingMadness/York/UK for home delivery. £4.25, not cheap, but as a treat OMG what a joy.
