Keykeg draught so still conditioned but colder than cask served on the second night of the eighth Independent Salford Beer Festival at the cask bar, the first time I was a customer
pours a clear golden body with handsome white head
Herby floral aroma
Slightly sweet start followed by mellow bitterness

Apart from the beer's name and ABV this is blind-tasted...
L- Mid copper (at least by the light of a low-voltage bulb!). It has a slightest hint of haze and a 5mm white cap of foam.
S- Unremarkable to my nose, it smells lightly of a standard-issue lager. I get no more than that.
T- It's quite prominently bitter-dry on the tongue, presumably solid hopping. That swiftly morphs into quite a rich malty body. I'd wish for something more distinctive and good in the flavour to buy it again.
F- The ^ dry vs rich creates a good balance. Zingy hops for sure but the reward of malt on the palate. As it warms (at +10mins post-pour) a minor sweet note is appearing, I better not linger.
O- Interesting and that balance^ is something I often find missing in beers with contempory levels of hops. How to sum it up? Like a refined 'hipster beer' suited for winter months, or for those who don't need a one dimensional hop-hammer of a brew? Well brewed but wouldn't have minded a bit more clearly identifiable character.
Bought from Trembling Madness (York) for home delivery. £3.90/440ml crafty can. BB: March 2023 - 'vegan'
