Owd Eerie (Oh Deary - geddit?)
7.1% 440ml BB: Apr 25 Bought from: Trembling Madness in York £5.25 - ouch
L- Very dark chestnut-red (only revealed when held to lightbulb) + fat mid-tan fine-bubble head. 4.25/5
S- Seems to have a roasty-toastiness to it. (Sorry, that's all I'm a bit congested) 3.5/5
T- Super-deep malts, perhaps a timber note, with a balancing dry hops note coming in after. A minor somewhat rich note right in the tail (note to self: do not linger on this, it risks getting sweeter as it warms in the glass). It does have a sense of an 'ancient/trad recipe', very far from vogeish modern tastes. 4/5
F- It's quite full-on taste and feel-wise but doesn't feel beyond say 6%. That's good brewing for you; subtlety, understatement. 4/5
O- I like it, I think it's very accomplished brewing. Now, at c£12 a litre... I'd happily drink it again, if someone else was buying... Nice brew though 4/5

Pours a dark brown colour, very clear.
Smell is old ale, hard to describe but very much reminiscent of theakston's. Some more dark fruit and caramel show up
Taste is the same
Feel is a bit too light. Feels like a 4% beer, not 7
Good overall
