If you ever have chance to get on tap, you will be thankful. Not sure how any beer drinker wouldn't appreciate. Hits on every level. Which, also, means 10.5% is almost crushable!
Stumbled upon cans a couple days after- can art is awesome, but only after you know what it is! If not, it looks like a big ol black and red ink spot.
Just a bit boozier in cans but this is great stuff.
Question is- Is this the first "crushable" 10.5%er?

16 oz can from Tavour. Medium yellow gold, hazy, small skin of head. Aroma is grapefruit and pineapple, some caramel. Taste is in your face juicy citrus, more caramel, sweet, bitter. Pretty smooth for a 10% beer.

This one pours a very hazy golden yellow color, with a small head, and lots of lacing.

This smells malty and boozy, like so many triple IPAs. There’s caramel and sugar, some juicy hop character, a boozy heat coming out of the glass.

There are a small handful of triple IPAs out there that I like, but this is not one of them. It’s got a cakey and bready malt character that is just unpleasant mixed with the intense booziness. There is some decent juicy hop character in there, but it plays as syrupy on the palate in the end due to other factors of this beer playing against it.

This isn’t all that drinkable, I kind of had to kill it quickly and unpleasantly to get to the next beer.

I won’t say that drinking made me feel like I was undergoing the torture depicted on the can label, that would be ridiculous. But, I did make the connection in my head, nonetheless.

This is the third beer that I've had from Nightmare and as much as I love the newer breweries that have popped up and started to distribute in my neck of the woods over the last few months, this was further proof that these guys are taking the cake when it comes to "must buy" status when I see their offerings on local store shelves!

The pour to this was pleasing as it had a uniformly cloudy, golden hue and quiet luminescence to it. Enough head topped it off although the lacing left behind could have been a bit more extensive, as there was a webbed ring near the top of my pint glass and not much the rest of the way down. Lots of sticky peach, dank apricot, gooseberry and rye in the nose as the taste was full, full-bodied, and oh-so-intriguing as it pulled me in and never let go. Tons of dank, heavy weed, spicy bread, and tropical fruit rind complemented the aroma beautifully with the end result being a Quadruple IPA that felt more like a Double - if that makes any sense! A bit of spicy kick gave this wondrous depth as the Enigma was the overriding hop from start to finish.

Not a lot of carbonation here as the heavy melon, peach, and stone fruit undertone was allowed to grow on me and ultimately shine as this turned out to be one dank and deep beer that almost felt like fermented tea. Dated 3/24, this never looked or felt old as this aged beautifully over the last seven months. Just like the label, this brew was not for the faint of heart but was worth the effort to get to know and ultimately, fully enjoy and savor. Nightmare has quietly become a heavyweight in these parts and for those of us in the know, we're all the better for having them at close reach as I can't recommend these guys enough!

16oz can into a pint glass. Canned 3/24/21, so not even 3 weeks old.

Looks absolutely magnificent in the glass. Deep, dark orange juice colored body. Bright thick foamy white head shrinks to around 1/4 covering and maintains right down to the last drop, impressive given the abv. Lacing, more like a mat of foam really, is superb

Aroma is hoppy, dull mixed fruit, and manages to smell warm.

On tasting, strong, warming, juicy, fruity, with a hint of pepper now and then. Makes the mouth water. Abv apparent, though not 10.0 apparent

Mouth is close to full, finish warm, juicy, faintly bitter, with a pepper touch on the side of the tongue

Overall, likely the best NE dipa I've had. Will look for more from Nightmare now they have poked their head into PA. Word of warning, the can art is not for the faint hearted, but is superb.

Can’t even taste the 10% super juicy and delicious! One of the best NE IPAs ive had in a long time. Definitely did not over do it with the quad dry hopping. Great texture!

Canning date: 1-13-21.

A - Opaque medium golden tan color that resembles tropical fruit juice. with incredibly sticky lacing all over the glass.

S - Dank tropical fruit aroma with pineapple, citrus, peach, peppery / tropical fruit rind, apricot, and passion fruit.

T - Onion, garlic, oily, tropical fruit peppery / spicy fruit rind, dank peach, apricot, pineapple, spicy melon, and an intense spicy lingering peppery fruit rind. Overall, finishes on the fruitier, sweeter side with intense oily / spiciness.

M - Thick, prickly on the tongue, chewy, oily, and lip smacking sticky.

O - In its current canning state, this is an intense, big, oily IPA palate trasher - all the stuff I enjoy in this beer style.
Recommended if you like 'em "super-sized". ;o)

a: murky dark orange and copper color. pours a 3-4 finger solid white head. large head for the style (not complaining)

s: sweet strawberries and caramel. pineapple and ripe mango. a touch of molasses. guava, and sweet melon. some sugar. very sweet smelling, like caramelized fruit

t: grassy, earthy sweetness upfront. hugeeee mango presence as well. lots of guava and passionfruit, caramel and some brown sugar. a hint of stonefruit and tea leaf at the end

m: heavy mouthfeel with low-moderate carbonation

o: this drinks like a NE Barleywine. very sweet, but the hop combo is nice. the mango in here is real nice

Can. Not what I was expecting when it poured out. Not a super turbid beer. More hazy than outright opaque. You can see damn well through it. The aroma was of booze soaked melon and citrus. I wasn't in love with the flavor. I thought the alcohol was too prominent and the hop flavor was a bit too harsh. A heavy sweetness sets in on the tail end of each sip. The malt bill is a little jacked up; almost toasty. Doesn’t match the hops. Also surprisingly didn't have a ton of body and left a really hot aftertaste. Mostly negatives I am spewing out but it's not a bad beer. Just overpriced and overrated.
