16oz can from Tavour. Hazy orange/golden pour with a huge, rocky white head, clumps of lacing left behind. Musky citrus, tropical aroma with enough ABV to be detectable by the nose. Taste is a nice tropical punch, papaya, melon, oranges, light dank notes. ABV let's you it's there, taking a prominent position in the beer profile. Long finish

16oz can. Poured out a cloudy, golden orange color with a small, off-white head of fluffy foam. It left sudsy trails of lace on the glass. It smelled of grapefruit, orange, vanilla, cream and sweet caramel. Nice bitter resin up front with orange, grapefruit, caramel and creaminess.

Traded for this a few months ago, as I went away during the end of the summer. Loved the first beer that I had from Nightmare and sure enough, lightning struck twice as this was quite the brew as well. Didn't seem like much off of the bat but as it warmed up, I took a liking to it as it didn't feel as strong as the 11.3% ABV led me to believe!
This had a gorgeous hazy honey hue to it with a near-perfect head that settled evenly and took it's time to dissipate. Beautiful, thick rings of lacing stuck around down the side of my pint glass nearly the whole way down as the suds covered a majority of it once I worked my way through this. A good amount of blueberry, mango, banana, bread, and soft hops were in the nose as they melded together wonderfully in the taste. I'm not very familiar with the hops that were used in this but boy, did they work together seamlessly as this went down easily for a "Triple New England IPA", as I like to refer to this. Some grass, elderflower, dank peach, and turbid stone fruit emerged in the back once this fully warmed up as this was full-bodied, nicely carbonated, and plenty sticky from the hops and underlying bready malt that served as the luscious backbone of this beer.
Booze? It's here and I felt it on my breath and beyond before I finished this off. The dangerous thing about something like this is that you want to reach for another well before you realize how potent it is - both it it's heft and overall appeal. Dated 5/27 on the bottom of the can, there were only one or two bits of darkness floating in the liquid as this aged beautifully over the last 4 1/2 months. No doubt that this place is under the radar, which leaves more for us who appreciate what a gem this brewery is. You owe it to yourself to seek beers like this out and find out what the fuss is all about!

A: Cloudy light amber. Loose Formation of white bubbles, but a significantly sized head.
S: Cherry pineapple tart, cherry limeade rickey, blueberry scones. The tiny bit of spice from the hops along with a biscuit malt grounds the experience.
M: Coarse crispness, moderate-heavy body and a canned tropical juice vibe.
T/O: Sweet berry trifle, brandy soaked rosemary ladyfingers, peach brulee. Orange blossom tinged bitterness...biscuity malts, sticky buns. Altogether, I think it tastes like a barleywine, but maybe TIPA is the desigination; but, def not a NEIPA.

This one pours a hazy golden yellow color, with a small head, and lots of lacing.
This smells like concentrated pineapple, mango, clementine, berry, and orange.
The salt is an interesting choice, it makes thing slightly briney but it also seems to kind of amplify and concentrate the juicy character on this one. It's also not all that boozy, which is surprising given the ABV.
This is medium bodied, very creamy, and pretty rich.
I liked this one a lot better than I thought I would have. I think the salt addition really helped this one out, and it was a great idea to put it in.

Review from the backlog.
Pours out a nice orange yellow with complete opacity. Finger of white foam forms with mild retention.
Nose is huge notes of pineapple and mango. A tropical bouquet this one is. Some citrus as well.
Taste follows with the pineapple and mango, but it goes even further and I get a mild hint of bananas as well. Thats really cool. I've never gotten banana in an IPA from hops. The tropical level is through the roof on this one. Some citrus and grass notes sit underneath delicately.
Mouthfeel is medium bodied. Smooth but not quite pillowy. Considerable density for an IPA.
Overall this was a really great brew. The different hop profile gave this a tropical cornucopia vibe. Pacific sunrise is a great name for the hop type and illicits images of a cocktail on a beach. A big, bold brew from Nightmare. I don't expect anything else from them.

Appearance: Pours cloudy and honey colored with a modest head; speckles of lacing linger
Smell: Tropical fruit tones with a citrusy element
Taste: Berry and melon tones join with papaya and lychee; some pineapple develops and then a sweet citrus middle; the bitterness never really develops amidst all of the sweeter fruit flavors
Mouthfeel: Medium to full body with moderate carbonation
Overall: An unpronounceable name brewed with some unfamiliar hops and a taste unlike any other IPA, let alone one that is a triple IPA (whatever that might mean); really worth trying but I had a hard time pinning down the flavors

Served in a tulip from the can.
Appearance: Cloudy almost opaque dark gold color with a white head rising half of one fingers length off the body.
Smell: Sweet aroma but bland.
Taste: i feel like I tasted this beer before. Sweet and super tropical consisting of mangoes and hearty breadiness to the beer. Think about making a mango sandwich on a french baguette with pineapple, passion fruit and light floral feel semi sweet yet beyond. A tropical dessert in a glass.
Mouth: Soft carbonation with a super sticky body. Makes love to your cheeks and some.
Overall: Best beer in this month. Seriously, won't share and don't care. Salud!
