I'm actually submitting a "review" to convey the fact that this brewpub has been closed for several years now. For what its worth, from memory:
It was a unique and interesting facility in that it really was in a rustic old mill in out-of-the-way Owensville, MO, a tiny berg nowhere near a city of any size. My single visit on a weekend afternoon found the place nearly empty, and two beers on tap a blonde ale and a porter. The porter was average for a brewpub, with decent roastiness and depth of flavor. I opted out on sampling the blonde ale. I recall thinking at the time that this was a strange place for a brewpub (for Missouri) and that they better serve good food appealing to the locals in order to remain afloat. I didnt try the food, so I cant comment on it. Im not sure what ultimately caused the place to close, but as we know, brewpubs have a tough time making it, and Missouri is not a hotbed of craft brewing like CO, OR, WA, CA, etc.
So, if nothing else, my review can save you a trip.
