a very light but also very refined take on the style, bright and clean, minimal in terms of body, quite reserved on the hop side as well, but not hurting for flavor overall, i think a pleasant beer, refreshing, good with spicy food, and makes sense as a pizza beer, which is what they do at their taproom space we visited, nice little spot. this is blonde and sunny, radiant in the glass with an average white head on it, lots of rising bubbles. the aroma and flavor present as fresh to me, lightly floral from the hops but never bitter in the least, and lighter to me on the grain and malt than most european takes on the style, less bready and crackery, less mineral forward, just clean and quick, thirst quenching, refreshing, minimal without being cheap, which i think is a nice place to be for a year round ripper like this, but its also not hurting for authenticity and goes beyond the typical yellow base lager with the grain character, light as it is, its got a little bit of a a white bread thing and some husk character, almost a decocted completeness to it, not quite but its in that direction, not just neutral because it isnt all dusty and lingering. the yeast does its thing effectively, this is bone dry and real well refined, the bubbles are frenetic and this is excited on the palate, a very approachable and crushable take on the style, but dont let its lightness trick you into thinking it isnt crafty, this is very well designed and executed, id suck a pint of this down anytime!
