473ml can - unless you know the addresses of the breweries in play here, you wouldn't know where it's actually brewed. Oh, and searching for this on the Google machine was waaaaaaaay easier than searching for it on here, just sayin'.
This beer pours a mostly clear, dark orangish-brown colour, with two fingers of puffy, loosely foamy, and bubbly beige head, which leaves a bit of spotty lace around the glass as it quickly evaporates.
It smells of bready and doughy caramel malt, some muddled black stone fruitiness, brown sugar syrup, and a plain earthy, musty, and dead floral hoppiness. The taste is gritty and grainy cereal malt, dark demarara sugar, some plum and prune fruitiness, ethereal yeasty esters, and more understated earthy, leafy, and floral hop bitters.
The carbonation is adequate in its palate-coddling frothiness, the body a solid medium weight, and generally smooth, with a wee airy creaminess seeping in once things warm up a tad out of the ol' refrigerator. It finishes trending dry, the yeast and hops doing well to quell the lingering sweetness.
Overall - this is a pleasant enough rendering of the style, with a deft balance achieved between the bitter and sweet. Worth checking out, and with zero sign of the near 8 points on the wowee sauce meter, just sip away and watch and listen to the world burn, baby.

A collaboration brew with the folks at Banded Peak Brewing.
Kudos to Alberta Beer Exchange for this rare gem!
Appearance - Pours a caramel brown with two fingers of caramel head.
Smell - earthy, leafy, and floral hops, bready malts, caramel, candied sugar, fruity esters (plum, raisin, fig, cherries), clove, pepper, and earthy yeast.
Taste - earthy, leafy, and floral hops upfront. The bready malts, caramel, candied sugar, and fruity esters (plum, raisin, fig, cherry) come through next. The clove, pepper, and earthy yeast round out the brew.
Mouthfeel - Medium bodied with moderate to high carbonation. Finishes smooth with the malts and fruity esters lingering.
Overall - A solid example of a dubbel from Cabin and Banded Peak. This one is very flavourful and highly drinkable. A must try if you get your hands on this!
