Nice to see a crossword with clues from the brewery itself. Nice to see some creativity from Cabin!
Appearance - Pours a dark cola brown with three fingers of frothy off-white head.
Smell - earthy and leafy hops, roasted malts, nutty aromas, hint of dark fruits, cocoa, oats, and earthy yeast.
Taste - earthy and leafy hops upfront. Then it goes into the nutty aromas, cocoa, oats, and bready malts. The bready malts round out the brew.
Mouthfeel - Light to medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Finishes off-dry with the cocoa, oats, and hops lingering.
Overall - A sessionable oatmeal stout that delivers on all fronts. A nice tipple on this overcast afternoon here in Cowtown.
