Sometimes, simple is best. Like sitting during the final hour of the day β the golden hour β where all that surrounds you is amplified in soft, glowing light.
Like sipping a simple but well-crafted ale β one that radiates with a gentle golden hue and subtle aromatics, encapsulating all that is incredible about the Belgian brewing tradition.
Golden Hour Belgian Blond has a wonderfully simple grain bill featuring Franco-Belges pilsner malt. Itβs crackery and ever-so-lightly toasty. The Belgian Abbey yeast strain does all the work here, giving an array of honey, pear and white pepper aromas, with just the lightest juicy fruit aromas and flavours. It finishes mostly dry, with a lingering, rounded sweetness.
Deceptively simple. Wonderfully delicious. Take time to enjoy the Golden Hour.
Cheers!

Appearance - Pours a hazy straw gold with two fingers of bubbly white head.
Smell - spicy earthy hops, belgian yeast, clove, coriander, fruity esters of orange and lemon, honey aromas, and biscuity malts.
Taste - spicy earthy hops, belgian yeast, clove and coriander upfront. The fruity esters of orange and lemon, and honey aromas follow suit. The biscuity malts round out the brew.
Mouthfeel - Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Finishes smooth and creamy with all elements lingering.
Overall - A brew that had good intentions. I feel as though the ABV overpowered the flavours of the brew. Still, a respectable brew.
