It can feel like a dark, dark world sometimes, but rest assured - there are beacons to light the way. Summer is around the corner. Vaccines are at hand. We may have forgotten how to speak face-to-face, but we haven’t lost the ability to love and be kind.
At first glance Falling Skies Dark Sour seems like a beer for dark days. But the deep brown colour comes from Sinamar liquid malt extract, which provides colour without the roasty notes you’d expect from a dark beer.
And the light at the end of the tunnel? Boatloads of tart cherries and apricots that provide vibrant bursts of tangy fruit flavour and baking spice notes. It’s a delightfully juicy flavour explosion to light you up from the inside.
Cheers!

A dark sour with apricots and tart cherries.
Appearance - Pours a chestnut brown with three fingers of foamy tan head.
Smell - earthy, leafy hops, funky brett yeast, apricots, tart cherries, clove, and biscuity malts.
Taste - earthy and leafy hops upfront. The funky brett yeast follows suit followed by the apricots and cherries. The clove and biscuity malts round out the brew.
Mouthfeel - Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Finishes tart with the apricots, cherries, and funky brett yeast lingering.
Overall - A well crafted sour that delivers on the apricot and cherry notes. However, this brew is a tad tart for my liking but some may find it pleasant. I can only handle a single can of this without it being too cloying. Otherwise, a solid brew.
