No one can deny it’s been a challenging year. The global pandemic burst upon us like a sudden downpour a year ago, and it’s barely let up since.
Cloudburst Tart Blueberry & Lemon Ale is released to celebrate #InternationalWomensDay2021. It uses a hop blend provided as part of the @pinkbootssociety initiative, which strives to improve gender diversity in the brewing industry. A portion of sales will go to the Pink Boots Society.
The sweet fruitiness of the blueberries and vanilla in this easy-drinking sour are balanced with the underlying acidity of lemons, while lactose adds creaminess. Think of it as a pie in a pint glass.
This year’s #IWD2021 theme is #ChooseToChallenge and we invite you to raise a glass of Cloudburst high to show you’re in. From challenge comes change - and we’ll cheers to that.

A tart blueberry and lemon ale with vanilla and lactose.
Canned Mar 4 so pouring from a fairly fresh can.
Appearance - Pours a purple colour with four fingers of light purple head.
Smell - earthy, leafy hops, blueberry, lemon, vanilla, custard aromas, lactose, bready malts, and funky brett yeast.
Taste - earthy and leafy hops upfront. The blueberry, lemon, vanilla, custard aromas, and lactose come through next. This brew is quite mild and smooth considering it has tart bluberries in it. The bready malts and funky brett yeast round out the brew.
Mouthfeel - Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Finishes slightly tart and smooth with all elements lingering.
Overall - A smooth and highly crushable brew that delivers on the blueberry and isn't too tart. I like the creativity of this brew. A nice brew to commemorate International Woman's day!
