A west coast IPA.
Appearance - Pours a hazy gold with three fingers of frothy bubbly white head.
Smell - citrus, earthy, piney, leafy, and floral hops, pine resin, grapefruit and citrus peel, mango, passionfruit, bready malts, caramel, and earthy yeast.
Taste - earthy, leafy, piney, leafy, and floral hops upfront. The pine resin, grapefruit and citrus peel, mango, passionfruit, and hint of coconut come through next. The bready malts, caramel, and earthy yeast round out the brew.
Mouthfeel - Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Finishes sticky with all elements lingering.
Overall - An IPA that delivers on the tropical fruit front but not as much in the west coast IPA front. I was hoping for the pine resin and grapefruit peel to take dominance in this brew but those elements were put back as supporting cast members.
